Dead Trigger coming to the Play Store today (update: tomorrow) for $0.99

Madfinger Games, the company that brought us the likes of Shadowgun, have announced that Dead Trigger will be finally making its way to the Google Play Store today tomorrow, July 3rd. Dead Trigger is a zombie-blasting first person shooter game that has you as a gun-toting survivor hellbent on staying alive with your group of newly-found comrades. Of course, Dead Trigger continues the partnership with NVIDIA, and has been optimized to provide killer graphics on Tegra 3 powered devices.

Dead Trigger is a mission-based system, where each level takes you anywhere from 2-10 minutes, perfect for picking up when you have a minimal amount of spare time. Each mission has you either killing all the zombies in an area, retrieving/collecting items and bringing them to an evac point, or holding a location for a period of time.

As you progress, you’ll be able to upgrade weapons and items using money and gold you accumulate, both of which can be had via an in-app purchase if you want the most firepower early in the game. Weapons and items unlock for purchase as you progress in level, similar to most first-person-shooter games out there.

We will bring you additional impressions of Dead Trigger once we’re able to get our hands on it for a prolonged period of time. Suffice it to say that this game is a steal for $0.99. If you like Zombie games, you simply owe it to yourself to pick up the latest from Madfinger Games when it launches on the Play Store tomorrow.

Note: The following market link will go live when the game does.

Google pulls the Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store in the US

Last week we reported that Apple successfully managed to block the sales of the Galaxy Nexus in the US, when the US court found Samsung/Google infringing upon some of Apple's search related patents.

Now we are finally seeing the effects of the ruling. You may know that Google began selling the GSM variant of the Galaxy Nexus on the Google Play Store in the US. Well, not any more. As of now, the handset page only displays "Coming Soon" as the status message where you would normally expect to see the shipping info and the "Add To Cart" button. You can choose to have the site notify you as and when the phone is back on sale, if at all.

Of course, this could have nothing to do with the court ruling, and Google may just be out of stock, or halting the sales till Jelly Bean starts rolling out. But the fact that Apple has just posted a $95.6 million bond, an amount that Samsung demanded and is necessary for the injunction to take effect, suggests otherwise.

Before this, Samsung even tried to stay the injunction by appealing to the court but the court declined Samsung's motion, just the way it did for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which too remains banned in the US.

While it's clear now that you won't be able to purchase a new Galaxy Nexus for a while, there is no news on what will happen to people who have already ordered the device and are now waiting to get their handsets delivered.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean confirmed in the Google Play Store

Rather unintentionally, Google has just let the name of the next Android release slip. As expected, it's going to be called Jelly Bean and will carry the 4.1 version number.

The leaked information can currently be seen on the US Play Store when purchasing a Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ smartphone described as "soon the first phone with Android 4.1 Jell..." You get the idea.

Additionally, there's also an image showing just a bite of the visual changes present in Jelly Bean. That's a new wallpaper and a visually refreshed Google search bar on the homescreen. The picture is of low resolution, but still the changes are somewhat visible.

This further confirms that Jelly Bean will be a minor update to Ice Cream Sandwich and we should expect Key Lime Pie to be Android 5.0 and probably launch with a new Nexus smartphone in the winter? There's no doubt then that Google will show Jelly Bean in action at the Google I/O Conference on June 27.
