Next For Former 'LittleBigPlanet' Devs: Plague Strategy Game 'Death Inc.'

Some of the developers behind "LittleBigPlanet," "Battlefield," and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" are working on a whimsical strategy game--where you'll be spreading the plague throughout England.

The 1660's-set game puts you in the robe of one Grim T. Livingstone, employee of the Ministry of Mortality, as he swings his scythe through 17th century England spreading the plague. The primary gameplay will involve rounding up and unleashing infected serfs upon the land as Grim attempts to up his soul collections, with special abilities like plague rats and exploding livestock to unleash the pestilence upon the land. The locals will, of course, be armed, fending off the infected with pitchforks and muskets.

The developer is Ambient Studios, an 11-man team based across the pond in Guildford, counting titles like "Burnout," "Fable," and "Black and White" to their list of credits. The team is comprised of founders Jonny Hopper (programmer/developer on "LBP") and Daniel Leaver (designer on "LBP 1" and "2"), along with former EA animator and artist Tim Holleyman and concept artist/animator Mike Pang.

From the official synopsis:

Have you ever considered your own mortality? Have you ever thought that maybe there’s more to the afterlife than keeping gravediggers and veil-makers busy?

The thing is, death is big business. The Ministry Of Mortality is the infernal agency tasked with finding the stiffs, shuffling off their mortal coils and setting them on their way to a better (or worse) afterlife. A vast, ancient corporation that can’t cope with demand, the Ministry Of Mortality is stretched to breaking point.

Plenty of room for the little guy, wouldn’t you say?

And that’s where you come in. Grim T. Livingstone: Reaper, entrepreneur, malcontent and founder of Death Inc., the afterlife’s premier mortality outsourcing agency.

"Death Inc." will be coming to the PC and Mac, with planned cross-functionality with mobile devices. If you want to see how "Death Inc." is shaping up, Ambient Studios has released a ton of concept art over on their site.

Supply shortages plague Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S III launch

As you know, tomorrow is the big day when Samsung's latest and greatest smartphone, the Galaxy S III, will officially land in US stores. It appears though, not all carriers will be having a perfectly smooth time with the launch.

T-Mobile says it will be the first to offer the US Samsung Galaxy S III in their brick and mortar stores, but the large demand has forced the operator to make the rollout a two-stage affair. Only what T-Mobile considers to be the top 29 markets will get the smartphone on launch date, with the rest to follow on June 27.

Those top markets include LosAngeles,CA; Chicago,IL; Phoenix,AZ; Houston,TX; SanDiego,CA; NewYork,NY; Seattle,WA; Miami/Ft.Lauderdale,FL; Dallas/Ft.Worth,TX; SanFrancisco,CA; SaltLakeCity,UT; Denver,CO; Minneapolis,MN; Tampa/St.Petersburg,FL; Philadelphia,PA; SanAntonio,TX; Portland,OR; Austin,TX; Atlanta,GA; KansasCity,MO; Boston,MA; Sacramento,CA; Orlando,FL; Detroit,MI; WashingtonDC; Cleveland,OH; Jacksonville,FL; Charlotte,NC and McAllen,TX.

If you aren't lucky enough to be living near any of the said locations you might still have a chance to grab one from the "limited amount" that should be available through the company's website.

The Galaxy S III will cost $229.99 with a two-year Value Plan contract from T-Mobile, and $279.99 after $50 mail-in rebate on a Classic plans.

Sprint has also confirmed that it can't quite handle the demand for the Galaxy S III and will only fulfill the 16GB pre-orders on launch date. Those who ordered the 32GB version will have to wait another week for their units to arrive.
