Kristen Stewart's Mom Details Actress' 'K-11' Cameo

While Kristen Stewart has made a career of balancing big-budget films and smaller indies, she just couldn't make time for "K-11." While she had an in for a bigger role in the LGBT-themed prison drama (her mom is the director!), she wasn't able to take time out of her busy filming schedule for a lead role.

"She kept working and she kept working and she kept working," mom Jules Stewart told Us Weekly about downsizing her daughter’s role in the movie. "And she got really big and we were still really small and I was like, 'Go! Go do 'Snow White,' please, go make those big films honey, that's wonderful!'"

Kristen's original role will now be played by Portia Doubleday ("Youth in Revolt"), but Stewart-philes should still tune in. She'll be in the flick, albeit briefly, playing a secretary. "Kristen has a dark side," her mom said about her daughter’s ability to play grittier roles, like the one Portia was cast in. "Kristen has the edge—thank god, right?"

The film is out in limited release on March 15. News first broke of KStew's smaller role in “K-11” last year, when her mom blogged about it. She said, "Kristen has always been supportive of 'K-11,' but you'll have to look very hard to find her. It's a micro-cameo. We'd already finished shooting the movie, but Kristen still wanted to be a part of it in some way."

New HTC M7 details debunk a few rumors, sheds light on new UI

News about the HTC M7 seems easy to come by these days. According to new details from an inside source, the HTC M7 is currently being tested on Sprint’s LTE network and is still on track for a Q1 launch. The tipster let us know that most of the specs and previous rumors are true, but there are a few details which do not match up with our source’s hands-on experience with the HTC M7.

For starters, our source claims that the rumors about a unibody aluminum case and on-screen buttons are unfounded. The HTC M7 is an all-black device and is constructed with the same materials as the HTC Droid DNA and features the traditional capacitive button layout we saw from HTC last year. The HTC M7 also borrows several design cues from the DNA and sports a “very nice looking beveled edge” along the screen. The size of the HTC M7 is said to be comparable to the HTC EVO 4G LTE, though it is a little longer and thinner.

As previously rumored, our source claims that the HTC M7 is powered by a quad-core processor with a 4.7-inch 1080 x 1920 display. The phone is equipped with 32GB of internal storage, but HTC has chosen not to include a microSD card slot as it did on the HTC J Butterfly.

On the software side, the HTC M7 is currently running on Android 4.1.2 with an updated version of HTC Sense which features a new UI and quite a few tweaks. The Sense software is said to be “simple and clean” with an updated lock screen and simplistic apps. HTC also seems to be focusing on usability improvements throughout the UI. One example is a new volume settings shortcut which appears on-screen when the volume rocker in pressed.

We still have our doubts about the rumored CES unveiling of the HTC M7, but we should expect to see more news about the device in the coming weeks. What are your thought on the new HTC M7 details?

Motorola DROID RAZR HD pictures, benchmark score reveal handset details

Fans of Motorola’s DROID RAZR lineup will be excited to hear that the upcoming Motorola DROID RAZR HD is shaping up to be an impressive handset. Over the past few days new details have emerged, confirming that the DROID RAZR HD will feature an 1196 x 720 HD display, Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor with an Adreno 225 GPU and a Kevlar back panel similar to its RAZR siblings.
According to DROID-Life, the thickness of the Motorola DROID RAZR HD will be somewhere between that of the original DROID RAZR and the RAZR MAXX, which features a 3,300 mAh battery. The assumption is that Motorola will equip the RAZR HD with a 2,200 – 2,500 mAh battery, giving users at least a full day’s worth of battery life under heavy use.
Those who passed on the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX due to performance concerns should be ecstatic to hear that the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor inside the upcoming DROID RAZR HD more than doubles the 28.1 FPS NenaMark2 scores produced by its predecessors. We may only have one NenaMark2 benchmark score to go on, but at 59.1 FPS the DROID RAZR HD stands in contention with the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S III.

The launch date of the Motorola DROID RAZR HD might not be right around the corner, but speculation is that the phone should show up on Verizon’s 4G network in August.
